Christmas Trees & Reindeer

This week we read books about Christmas trees and reindeer. The kids laughed when they had their feet painted for the reindeer craft. They loved to decorate their own Christmas trees with buttons & jewels. Some of their trees got very heavy :)

Snowman

December is such a fun month! We have been reading about snowmen & penguins this week. We are focusing on octagons in December as well. Their craft for snowman was to sequence the letters in their name into a tall snowman & glue them into place! They did so well!

Thanksgiving feast!

Today was our Thanksgiving feast! It was such a fun day! The kids made their Indian hats, made thankful turkeys, we talked about the first Thanksgiving, and had a giant feast! They had turkey, mashed potatoes, corn, rolls, gravy, and juice. After the feast they had dessert. Pumpkin pie with whipped cream! Almost all of them had seconds or thirds on the main meal. I am so thankful that I get to teach these cute kids!

November

In November we talked a lot about fall. We made q-tip trees with fall leaves.
We made leaves with torn up paper in fall colors. The kids had to tear their own paper. It was hard for some of them and it was so cute to see their friends helping each other.
This month we started trying to write their names. This is super hard for them. I will help them write the first line then I have them try the rest. I cant wait to see how they improve!
We read books about fall. Fall colors, smells, weather changes, etc. One of the favorite books was "There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed Some Leaves!" The kids each got their own old lady & filled her up with all the silly things she ate.
As we got closer to Thanksgiving we did lots of turkey talk! They really enjoyed the dot markers!
They also got new puzzles for letter recognition. They are doing so well with them!
